HOW WE WORK

The Eastern Culture Exchange Association (ECEA) is a non-profit, self-managed art and cultural exchange society. It currently has Huaxia Livingston Chinese Dance Group and Starry Children's Art Troupe. As a non-profit organization, ECEA fully embodies the democratic spirit and selfless dedication of the management. At the same time, all of it’s administrative management and propaganda work are also undertaken by the members of the Association.

OUR HISTORY

The Huaxia Livingston Dance Group was established in 2003. It is led by artists from China, Ms. Shen Xiaoxing, Ms. Mao Hong and Ms. Sun Luping. It brings together a large number of amateur professionals with artistic backgrounds. For more than a decade, the members learn dance not only from the professional dancers, but also with collective creation. The group has a series of high-quality Chinese traditional and folk dances, such as “Love Songs of Kangding”, “Peacock”, “Dream of DunHuang,” “Charming Years,” "Clouds and the moon" and "Snowy Plateau" and so on. Violinist Ms. Shen Xiaoxing created a new combination of violin and modern dance, wrote and directed the story: “Storm”. After the launch of this program, it was deeply loved by the audience. Dance "Yi" combines the violin and dance, compiled by dancers Ms. Sun Luping, Ms. Mao Hong and Ms. Shen Xiaoxing. Dance “Blue Porcelain” united the beauty of blue porcelain, the beauty of oriental women and the beauty of Chinese costumes. This is a new and perfect integration. It provided a visual feast in the "Chinese Night" and "China Art Festival" and caused a great sensation.

The members of the Association combine beautiful body language with music. They integrate pure emotions into pure dance techniques; fully demonstrate the charm of Chinese dance. They express their love and inheritance of Chinese culture, express their endless pursuit of dance art, and express their desire to promote the diversification of China and the United States culture. Since its inception, the Dance Group has been invited to participate in many performances in New York area, including Lions New York Branch, Fujian Association, Fuzhou Association and Beijing Association, and many other Chinese groups, as well as New York University, Columbia University, Seton Hall University, Connecticut Library, Merck Corporation, and many Huaxia Chinese School branches. The professional and meticulous choreography and elegant aesthetic style full of oriental charm make this Dance Group stand out among many art performance groups. Based on the above factors, the Dance Group applied for The Eastern Culture Exchange Association (ECEA) in 2015, also created Starry Children's Art Troupe.

Starry Children's Art Troupe rehearsed children's chorus in a short time with the joint efforts of Ms. Shen Xiaoxing, parents and students: "Winter Snow", "Linger's Ring", "Farewell", "Singing and Smiling", "Little Pine", violin ensemble "Gorgeous" and other programs. The Troupe performed at the 2015 Huaxia Chinese School Christmas Gala, which was well received. The children were also invited to participate in the Livingston community event on Martin Luther King’s Day. At the Multi-ethnic Cultural Festival in 2016 organized by YMCA, the children’s performances made the audience entertained with applause and cheer.
